Shift work means working when others are sleeping and sleeping when others are working. Always at the wrong time at the right place or at the right place at the wrong time. Leading a life in the wrong lane, when the normal working day begins at 7 a.m. and lasts until 5 p.m. Shift work also means working against the biological clock. The result is nervousness, physical illnesses and exhaustion. The "Konti-house" at the DASA shows how structural modifications can help shift workers to get more than just a "bit of shut-eye", in a model bedroom that is really quiet during the day.

We live an in age of noise. Over five million people are exposed to the harmful effects of noise every day. Working at the electric steel furnace was also a noisy place to work. Legally regulated: working hours

The law on working hours came into force on 1st July 1994. It lays down the basic standards on when and for how long employees are allowed to work. It safeguards the workers’ health and safety by limiting the maximum number of hours worked per day and stipulating the minimum length of breaks during work and minimum length of rest periods after finishing work.
