Electricity comes out of a socket. Many hands and many brains at the power station are involved before the electricity flows. Day and night, round the clock - electricity is needed constantly.
Those working in the control room are responsible for supplying many people with power - one wrong decision and the lights go out. For the employees, monitoring the displays at the control desk causes quite a strain on the eyes - for hours on end, day and night. Nothing happens for hours - then suddenly, an irregularity and all the reactions have to be right.
The electric network is controlled regularly so that nothing untoward happens in the control room. How is this done? Find out for yourself at the DASA! Take a seat in our helicopter. Check that everything is working. Are the isolators O.K.? Or has lightening struck? Any bird dirt?
